THE IMAGINATION OF BRIAN FATAH STEELE

These are brief summaries of some ideas I've been working on for a while. Each have various amounts done in their production, and I've done illustrations for them to better clarify things in my head.

As I've said, I really am a horror writer. I love stuff that gets under the skin, the creepy stuff. Some of my best childhood memories are of things that terrified me.

Today, I can't get enough of my influences, like Stephen King, Clive Barker, Anne Rice, Chuck Palahniuk, Warren Ellis, Micheal Crichton, Brian Lumley, J.K. Rowling, Garth Ennis, Jeff Long, James Patterson and a long list of others.

I find that music plays great importance in my writing. If I'm feeling particularly brutal, I'll put on some post-hardcore music and crank out a splatterpunk piece. If I'm feeling something ethereal, I'll put on Sigur Ros and write to match. Horror is all about making you feel.

All my art work is done with mechanical pencil on bristol paper. After I'm done drawing it in, I'll go back over inking it. I usually use Micron pens and basic old sharpie magic markers for the thick black areas. I don't often use color anymore, but occationally a piece will call for it. Then, it's which ever medium will work the best.
